Dmytro Yemelianov, Software Developer at AMC Bridge, made an overview of Autodesk Forge development platform. He is a member of Autodesk Developer Network, ADN Open CIS, and has extensive experience of development of various CAD/PDM/PLM applications.

Dmytro introduced the basic steps to start working with Forge and registering an app on the platform.

OAuth, specifically OAuth2, is the open standard used across the Forge Platform for token-based authentication and authorization. As a first step, Dmytro described and demonstrated how to use the simplest authentication mechanism on the Forge platform along with securing an end user’s authorization.

And as a second step, Dmytro introduced Data Management API which is REST based, exchanges information in JSON format, and uses OAuth 2 for authentication. Dmytro described its functionality, main services, attributes and will demonstrate the process of getting started with it.
